Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

The most important thing is that your clothing is comfortable and allows a full range of motion without binding, giving you full freedom to move without exposing you.

Treatments may require you to remove outerwear so please wear appropriate underwear that keeps you modest.

Do I need to be flexible for your classes?

No, the main thing is the act of coming to your mat, the rest will follow, we promise! Yoga is so much more than postures.

It includes breath work and rhythmic movement that lulls you into a moving meditative practice, whilst also adding the benefit of stretching and strengthening muscles. Pilates works on improving this too, with a specific core strength focus.

What if I’m Hypermobile?

We work with a huge number of Hypermobile clients and many of us are too! The key thing is to listen to cuing in classes to keep your joints safe and your muscles active to gain the most benefit and keep you pain-free in your body. Please always let your teacher know at the start of class of any underlying conditions.

We can provide Specialist assessment and treatment in this field should you need. Please book a treatment session to learn more about your body, and help you to work with it, rather than against it.

What should I bring to class?

A bottle of water, your own mat if you wish, and a smile :)

Can I do classes whilst I am pregnant?

If you are pregnant, check with your doctor or health professional before starting yoga, pilates or other classes.

Yoga and Pilates are great exercise, if done safely, during pregnancy. If you have never done Yoga or Pilates before please speak to the teacher before the class and avoid any trimester inappropriate positions.

The later in your pregnancy the more modifications you will need and you may not be able to participate in some asanas/positions. Please be aware that you practice at your own risk and that of your unborn child.

We can also treat pregnant patients in 121 sessions, either relating to an injury or concurrent to injuries, so please book a Physio session.

I am carrying an injury, can I still practice?

Whilst it is important to have an accurate diagnosis in order to not cause any further damage, our classes are designed to compliment our physio and remedial massage treatments, so go ahead and work with our therapists and teachers to include Yoga and Pilates exercises in your rehab plan.

Is there parking?

There is plenty of on-street parking in the area. However we encourage locals to walk, or to cycle (and use our 2 bike spaces) or use public transport where possible to keep our city less congested and support the environment :)

Do you run a waiting list?

Our classes operate a waitlist and will email you when a slot becomes available operating on an ordered list. Our treatments also operate a cancellation list and the therapist will message you with any last minute availability as it crops up.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 48 hours notice of cancellations with the result of cancelling outside this being a payment in full.
